Louis Hughes
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Hughes is Chairman and CEO of GBS Laboratories in Virginia. He was named Chairman to Maxager's Board in September, 2001. In addition to Board responsibilities at Maxager, he serves as a director of ABB and of Sulzer AG in Switzerland, Akzo Nobel in the Netherlands, MTU in Germany and Electrolux in Sweden. Mr. Hughes also formerly served as a director of Deutsche Bank, of British Telecom and the Associates of Harvard Business School, and is a former president and chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin. Prior to serving at Lockheed Martin, he was executive vice president of General Motors Corporation where he played a key role on General Motors executive leadership team during the far-reaching restructuring in the 80's and 90's. A graduate of GM Institute and Harvard Business School, Hughes rose through the ranks as a financial executive at GM. In the 1990s, Mr. Hughes led GM Europe and then all of GM's operations outside of North America. In addition to his decades of service in the private sector, Mr. Hughes served as a diplomat in Afghanistan for the US State Department in 2004 and 2005, when he was Chief of Staff of the Afghanistan Reconstruction Group--a team of senior advisors to the US Ambassador, President Karzai and his cabinet.
Michael Rothschild
Founder and Vice Chairman of the Board
A veteran of the manufacturing and software industries, Michael Rothschild founded Maxager Technology to provide manufacturers with the advanced information services needed to dramatically boost Return on Assets. Prior to launching Maxager, he authored the widely-acclaimed book Bionomics: Economy as Ecosystem (Holt, 1990). During the 90's, he was a featured speaker at many business, political, and academic gatherings. Mr. Rothschild's work was featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Economist and The Financial Times. In the early 80's, during the pioneering days of the personal computer software industry, Mr. Rothschild served as an executive with WordStar. His business career began at The Boston Consulting Group where he worked with major manufacturers to improve their financial performance. Mr. Rothschild earned his law and MBA degrees simultaneously from Harvard.
Karl Perron
President and CEO
With more than 16 years of leadership in enterprise software, Mr. Perron is an accomplished corporate strategist and line-of-business manager, and is recognized for his ability to quickly grow profitable businesses. Prior to Maxager, Karl was the Vice President and Managing Director for SAP AG's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) business unit which in less than one year has emerged as the global leader in enterprise compliance applications. Prior to joining SAP Governance, Risk, and Compliance Inc., Karl served SAP's family of companies since 1995 in senior management positions at SAP America, Inc. in sales, outsourcing services, and professional services, and at SAP Labs, LLC. in the development, testing, and global roll-out of SAP software. He has also held senior management positions at enterprise software and services startups including Paymetric Inc.; Murray and West Consulting; GK Intelligent Systems; and BlueStar Solutions. Karl earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Texas A&M University and completed an international business program at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico.
William Melton
Director
Mr. Melton founded VeriFone, the world's leading maker of credit card transaction terminals. He served as President and CEO of VeriFone from 1981 to 1986, and served as its Chairman from 1986 until 1992. Mr. Melton was also a founding investor of Transaction Network Services, a private data network communications company, and continues to serve on its Board. Under Mr. Melton's guidance, all three firms successfully transitioned from high-technology start-ups to thriving publicly-held companies. In addition, Mr. Melton was a Director of America Online, the leading on-line services company.
Mark Edwards
Director
Mr. Edwards is the founder and Chairman of Compensia, Inc., a leading Board advisory firm. Prior to this he was the founder and CEO of iQuantic, Inc., a national executive compensation consulting firm serving the tech sector. iQuantic was sold to Mellon Financial in 2001. Mr. Edwards received an MS in Management from the Sloan School, M.I.T. and a BA from UC Santa Cruz. As an avid poker player, he was recently a World Poker Tour finalist, but has yet (alas) to win the world championship.
Henry Haight
Director
Mr Haight is currently President and CEO of Argo Global Capital. Prior to that, Mr. Haight was a founder and a Managing Director of Advent International Corp. ("Advent"), one of the world's largest private equity investment firms with more than US $6 billion under management, operating in 30 countries from 12 offices with more than 85 investment professionals. Mr. Haight joined Advent in 1983. He was closely involved in the formation of, and was responsible for, Advent's operations in the Pacific Rim. Later, Mr. Haight was also responsible for Advent's operations in Canada. At Advent, Mr. Haight was directly responsible for more than US $75 million of investments in 27 companies. Prior to joining Advent, Mr. Haight founded or acquired 11 companies in a number of fields (including forest and consumer products), many of which had operations in Asia, Latin America and Canada. Mr. Haight is currently a director of OnMobile Inc.; SenseStream; RealVision Technology Limited; Chinatron; Neural Technologies Ltd.; Cerebrus Solutions Ltd.; Northstream AB; ArgNor and ProQuent Systems Corporations. He received a BS from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Allan King
Director
Mr. King has spent the last ten years investing in startup companies. He also spent virtually his entire career in the oil and gas business, during which time he drilled over 1,000 wells, principally in the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast area. He founded and served as President of Goldking Production Company, based in Houston, Texas, for over 15 years. Mr. King is currently a Director of Maxager Technology, Inc. He was a founding Director of the startup companies Activerse, Inc., Oil and Gas Clearinghouse, Inc., Synergy Oil and Gas Co., Inc. and Message Effect, all of which grew to very successful businesses and were bought by public companies. He is a member of the All-American Wildcatters organization and serves on the Executive Committee of the Texas Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association. Active in community affairs, he is a former Chairman of Presbyterian School Board of Trustees and is an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church. He is a Director and former President of the Development Board of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, a Director of The Star of Hope Mission, a Director of Americans for Fair Taxation, and a Life Member of the Board of Directors of the Methodist Hospital System. He has also served as a regent at the University of the South. Mr. King graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in economics and earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dan Lynch
Director
Mr. Lynch serves as a director for Covad Communications (Amex:DVW). He founded Interop Company, which is now a division of CMP Media. He is on the board of Trustees of the Santa Fe Institute. As Director of Information Processing Division for the Information Sciences Institute in Marina del Rey (USC-ISI), Mr. Lynch led the Arpanet team that made the transition from the original NCP protocols to the current Internet TCP/IP protocols. He directed this effort from 1980 until 1983. Mr. Lynch received undergraduate training in mathematics and philosophy from Loyola Marymount University and obtained a Master's Degree in mathematics from UCLA.
